This half-day workshop is designed for service providers who offer services to newcomer families with children ages 0 to 6 through Ontario Early Years Centres, Healthy Babies Healthy Children, family resource programs, settlement programs and other parenting programs
The objectives of this workshop are to:
Share research information on the needs of young newcomer children and their parents.
Share program ideas, activities and resources which can help newcomer families meet their children’s developmental needs.
Strengthen programming to make it more culturally competent.
Note:
The resource Growing Up in a New Land – Strategies for Working with Newcomers Families will be distributed to participants. The $35 registration fee includes lunch and participant handouts
