PC2 - Promotion of Healthy Weights in the Early Years
Childhood obesity has become a serious concern in Canada and has heightened attention to the importance of physical activity in the early years. The preconference session provided information about promoting healthy weights in children and the launch of the provincial campaign on Physical Activity in the Early Years.
The agenda was based on the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. The day started with a keynote speaker who provided an overview of the issue and then speakers addressed each of the five components of The Charter.
